Made in Vermont by Copeland Furniture. The Catalina Collection is suggestive of the works of America's Mid-Century Modern designers. Designs of this post-WWII period reflected a sense of hope and the promise of an ideal future. Today, one finds comfort and nostalgia in Catalina's retro-modern shapes and sensibilities. This modernist buffet features one 4-drawer side with a 1-drawer over 2-door side. Sleek integrated wooden bar pulls run the length of drawers and doors. Doors include soft close (self closing) door hinges and interiors are open with adjustable shelving. All drawers feature asymmetrical English dovetail joinery. Drawer interiors are fully finished and sanded with bottoms jet-welded and under-mounted, soft-close drawer slides offer smooth operation. This buffet features a drawer/door configuration in two models (with 4-drawers at left or right). One of the top drawers is a designated silverware drawer featuring Guardian Anti Tarnish lining and cloth. And an optional Hutch (sold separately) incorporates adjustable/removable shelves for wine bottle and stemware storage. Catalina is crafted in solid American black walnut hardwood with a Natural wood finish. Hand-crafted with impeccable quality and attention to detail, this buffet is bound to last through generations of use and enjoyment. Select from two configurations (drawers at left or right). Copeland Furniture uses sustainably harvested hardwoods from the American Northern Forest. All lumber used by Copeland Furniture comes from within 500 miles of their factory in Vermont, thus reducing fossil fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions from transportation. The environmental values of preservation and stewardship are reflected in every piece of furniture produced by Copeland Furniture.

On a slow Sunday afternoon this sideboard makes the dining area feel more settled. It has already been part of family dinners holiday meals and plenty of ordinary evenings. On weekends I notice it more when the dining room is actually being used. I like it more now than I did when I first ordered it.

The area we use most around meals came together nicely with this buffet worked into the layout.

We installed this over the round table in our dining area. The alabaster pieces have noticeable natural variation, which gives the fixture more character than plain frosted glass. It produces plenty of light without feeling harsh, and the gold finish is softer and less shiny than it appeared online. The chandelier is fairly heavy, and our electrician spent extra time leveling the ring after installation. Once adjusted, it felt secure and looked properly balanced. We are very happy with the finished result.

It gives the room a warm, comfortable glow rather than the flat light we had from the previous fixture. Our electrician needed some extra time to adjust the three cables and get the ring perfectly level, so installation was not especially quick. Once finished, however, it looked clean and balanced. The aged brass details are subtle and work well with the older wood and brick in our home.

We chose this for our family room because we wanted something distinctive without adding a long hanging fixture. The 38-inch width is larger than it may seem online, but the shallow profile works surprisingly well with our ceiling height. The eucalyptus color is muted and slightly uneven across the coconut pieces, which makes the fixture look more natural. When the lights are on, the branches cast interesting shadows across the ceiling without making the room feel dark. It has completely changed an otherwise very plain room.
